Wrinkle Relaxants (Neuromodulators)

When used superficially, wrinkle relaxants also shrink pores and decrease oil production.

Neuromodulator treatments are now the most common minimally invasive aesthetic treatments performed in the world. These medications include Botox® Cosmetic, Dysport™. Jeuveau®, Xeomin and DAXXIFY®.
The differences between Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau and Daxxify
All injectable wrinkle relaxants contain a type of botulinum toxin and differ slightly in their formulation. Each has different proteins or a peptide to stabilize them, producing differences in their onset and duration of results.
Botox® Cosmetic was the first aesthetic neuromodulator approved by the FDA in 1989. It has also been used safely for a variety of medical conditions including migraine headaches and muscle spasticity for many years. The clinicians at Skinspirations have performed over 21,000 Botox® treatments and trained many of the providers in Tampa Bay.
Results from Botox usually become visible within 3 – 10 days and last an average of about three to four months. Pricing for Botox® Cosmetic at Skinspirations ranges from $9 per unit up to $12 per unit, depending on the total number of units used.
Dysport™ is a neuromodulator that has been FDA-approved since 2009 and is considered so safe that it’s approved for spasticity in children. The effects of Dysport usually become evident within 2 – 5 days and results last an average of about three to four months. When used in comparable doses, the price of Dysport at Skinspirations is roughly equivalent to the price of Botox and Jeuveau.
Jeuveau is another neuromodulator that usually produces results within 2 – 3 days and results last an average of three to five months. The price per unit of Jeuveau at Skinspirations is equal to the price of Botox. Unlike other rewards programs that provide rebates earned from previous treatments, you can take $40 off each Jeuveau treatment (done at least 90 days apart) when you use the Evolus app.
DAXXIFY® is the newest and longest-acting wrinkle relaxer that became available in 2023. Skinspirations was one of the few select practices chosen to offer DAXXIFY before its general release later that year. The results of Daxxify® last an average of about six months for many patients. Improvement with Daxxify™ is seen within 1 – 2 days vs 3 -10 days with other relaxants.
Daxxify® is the only neuromodulator manufactured in the USA and the only one free of any animal-based components. About 50% more units of Daxxify are needed than Botox and Skinspirations’ price for each unit ranges from $6.75 to $9, depending on the total number used.
